Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to calculate the 2nd order intercept point of an amplifier from a typical datasheet, or from s-parameter data? As this is not usually provided.

Thanks

you cannot calculate ip2 from s-params.
ask to the vendor for ip2 data

Have a look at **broken link removed** !!

Thanks for the help. I guess you cannot calculate IP2 from s-parameters because s-parameters only describe the device in linear operation, and IP2 is an indication of non-linearity.

For anyone who is interested, this **broken link removed** suggests that as a rule of thumb, the IP2 point is roughly 18-20dB above the P1dB point.
