Dear friends,

Now I am project based on GSM module,
SIMCOM300S -- VERSION 6.02

I am in need to limit the current consumption in my hardware .so that I have enabled the sleep mode in SIMCOM MODULE using the command AT+CSCLK=1;

But power consumption is always same .

Kindly tell me that this version support sleep mode or not?

Thanks in advance

I tend to use MOS FET switches in the power lines to GPS and GSM modems to switch them off when not in use

Thank you for information

But in my case ,i don't want to switch off my modem,it should receive call and sms at any time .that is why I prefer sleep mode

Thank you sir,

I will try this command and let you know the result

AT+CPAS=5 will take modem to sleep mode.....

This command gives error only.at+cpas defined upto value 4 only :
"AT+CPAS=5
ERROR
AT+CPAS=5
ERROR"
this is what I got in Hyperterminal

check the data sheet of modem, as for wavecom 5 takes it to sleep mode... please check the value for your modem, that is the command used in mobile phones too.....

there is one more option using at+cfun

check this **broken link removed** page 12........

one option i saw is connect DTR pin to GPIO and make it low to force modem to sleep mode without switch.. and make GPIO high to activate the modem or send some message or call to bring it back to active state.

Already I have same data sheet. If we Use CFUN ,SIM cannot be accessible,

My requirement is :SIM should be active,But modem should go into sleep mode.CSCLK is given in same datasheet as per my needs. But it does not show any improvement

Yes sir,

But in my hardware DTR pin is not terminated outside .

I think you have some misunderstanding... sleep mode will take the modem into sleep state. SIM is a part of modem activity... so nothing will be active except the serial port from where interrupt signal comes and wakes up the modem....

what functionality you need to do in SIM without waking up modem..... i had misunderstood your question earlier.

how to enable sleep mode in Gsm -SIM300 module?---continue

To sckshivaram :

I can understand the sleep mode , SIM alone cant do anything while GSM modem is sleep mode,I need to put this low power consumption mode.

At the same time ,it should wake while receiving call or sms .

If we use CFUN, power down mode, call cannot be established .
