Hi, I am trying to simulate a printed monopole slot antenna using IE3d.

the printed monopole slots are cut at the edge of the system ground plane.
A 50ohm microstrip feedline is to excite the monopoles. However, according to the journal, it is located at the backside of the ground plane.

Can anyone help me understand what is meant by 50ohm microstrip feedline on backside of the ground plane? how to draw it using IE3D?

Thanks

1. You can find a 50-ohm microstrip line segment from LineGauge Basic (free) or Professional.
2. If you have LineGauge Professional, you can copy the segment into MGRID without even drawing it.
3. You can always create a 50-Ohm line segment (rectangle) on the backside of the ground plane using data from LineGauge or other source.
