how to download .sof file in ALTERA EP1S40 NIOS DEVELOPMENT

hello, all friends. I have a EP1S40 NIOS DEVELOPMENT BOARD,

I download my .sof file through JTAG port into EP1S40 with QUARTUS ii 4.2,

but it seems that EP1S40 does not operate use my .sof file.


how to download .sof file,

help?

Some time back I worked on Altera Cyclone.

As for as I remember
to download the .sof file, JTAG is the correct method.Check the JTAG connections.

also check the size of the .sof file.
it should not exceed the size of the EP1S40
