how to display rs232 bytes on matlab screen,experts pls help

as a part of my final year project, i want to get and display data that is sent by UART module of pic16f877 on mat lab command window.But i m stuck here data send by uart module is ok.But matlab doesnt show exact values of data. can someone help me with correct matlab coding?
