Hi I'd like to know how to design a/d converter and how the converter can recognize the incoming signal at his input pad and then start the sample and hold process.

adc converter

Hi,

It depends on what architecture you want to use. But a simple way for designing an ADC you need a Comparator, than you need Bubble Error Correction Circuitry and afterwards you need a ROM Encoder to convert the thermometer code to Binary Code. And than you are more or less done with the ADC. So you need to study which Comparator Architecture you are going to choose.

Incase you wish me to add more or any topic feel free to ask.

you can search some samples about S/H circuit in IEEE

Re: adc converter design

You'd better study some classes and reading several books and papers
on AD/DA design.youmay find these in download session in this forum.
