how to cut a slot in a post

Hi, I am new to this forum. I want to design microstrip antenna for my project using ansoft designer can anyone guide me how to cut slit, to short two layers, rules of exiciting an antenna. i have searched a lot and read ansoft designer mannual but do not find anything
