How to control a stepper motor movement over LAN using keyboard arrows?

Halo,
Our project has a stepper motor connected to a network enabled embedded system(an arm board)..The aim of the stepper motor is to enable the movement of the webcam connected to our embedded system..The embedded system streams video from the webcam over LAN to any client computer..Our aim is to control the stepper motor movement over LAN using the client's keyboard's left and right arrows..Can someone please give me some guidance??
