hello guys,

Does anyone know how to connect specific cells with specific metal layers in SoC encounter?

I want to add an extra metal layer in lef technology files and i want to connect the pins of two cells with this extra metal. Does Encounter gives that option? Does anyone have an idea (direct-indirect way).

Thanks,
Dionisis

Sure, you can manually route wires on any layer(s) you want in Encounter. You can also tell the tool to put specific nets on specific layers. I think the variable is minlayer and maxlayer or something like that; check the docs.
