I just got analog VU meter and i dont know how to connect it to a amplifier.Does + and - marks on device goes BEFORE(between input chinch and volume pot) or AFTER(between volume pot and amp boards) the volume pot?
And + and - marks means + is signal and - is ground ?
If the meter you have is a strait forwared moving coil meter then you will need some electronics to interface it to the signal line in your amplifier.
The other option is to use it as a power meter were you can experiment with a resistor and diode combination to power the meter from the output stage of the amplifier.Remember any load you put on the signal line could introuduce distortion.

The VU meter (volume units) goes across the input to the amplifier,
+ to the hot lead, - to the ground return lead and after the volume controle.
A true VU meter needs no other circuitry.
They are normaly set to indicate 0dB with a 1 volt RMS sine wave into the amp.
