hi,
please does anyone know how a thermostat would be connected to an fpga (spartan 3 board).
i am supposed to implement vhdl codes on an fpga that run a 7 day clock timer and does certain functions like turning on/off related to the temperature on a thermostat.
does anyone know how the thermostat would be attached to the fpga device (spartan 3 board) or how them 2 are supposed to be connected to each other.

Also please any suggestions of the type of thermostat i should get to make this connection. maybe digital or manual or programmable thermostats if itdoes this matter? Thanks
