scl frequency

hi,

for I2C communication how to calculate the SCL frequency
i am using one master working in 7.3728MhZ and one slave

working in 3.6728Mhz i want to use the i2c communication

between these can any one help in this issue

thanks in advance

Hi

You should program the SCL frequency according to chip you are communicting with - See data sheet

Can be from 10kHz and up to 400KHz for ordinary I2C type IC

All the best

Hi

1st you must not excedded the SCL indicated by the slave
2nd as the bus capacitance increased you need to decrease the SCL.

you can refer to I2C specifications by Philips for more information

100khz and 400khz as well as 1-2mhz for high speed bit rate.
