i have a doubt about gate count of fpga.

i saw one project bidding paper, he has mentioned that, he require 3-millions of gates fpga .

how can we search which fpga having how many gates. generally PLD manufactures specifies in terms of LOGIC CELLS only.

please give me the corresponding information.

thank u.

Re: doubt on fpga

It is quite a hard question....
In fact, the elementary unit for a FPGA is the Logic element.
This logic element is built from logic gate, and the number of logic gate depend upon the manufacturer and the device family (quite esay to specify), and the logic implemented (project dependent). I mean, if you have a configurable register, the equivalent logic gate number depend of the configuration (Simple D flipflop, T FlipFlop, asynchronous / synchronous set / reset, etc....)
So (in my opinion) there is no magic formula.

you should have a look at **broken link removed**
for more information....

Hope it will help you...
