i m taking one image and want to extract the features,
but i dont no how to calculate the perimeter in matlab
are there amy direct function in matlab
plz suggest me

You can Extrac the features by corrdinates.

ie 1st estimate the coordinate location of your feature, you want to extract. Than make a window of all ones inside and zero outside.

Finally do filtering in Spatial Domain.

go to each location of the image by using for loops (for x=...;for y=....)
and then check the conditions for he RGB intensity there.
Like R.200;G<...
to get your features.

This approach can be used in some cases.
