How to calculate mean for decimal vaues in verilog?

I have to calculate mean values for 2048 decimal values..
can anyone tell how to process decimal values in verilog?

It may be more efficient to calculate in 64 bit binary. Can you convert and add? Then divide by 2^11 is simply shift and truncate 11 LSB bits.
