how to burn .hex to microcontroller with usb port

plis help me i want to burn .hex to uC but all i have in my laptop is usb port...

what software and interface that i should have...??

sorry for interrupting so late but sir i want your help


i have a project in i am using At mega 2560. in which the avr should for burning the program and co communicate with computer also i want to use usb to communication and burning the program. while surfing i foud that i can use some AT Mega 8 or some other AVR and all. But sir is it Possible that with out using the other AVR we can do this???
if its not possible from where i can get the program of the other AVR?


please help waiting for your valuable time

Get a USB- Serial Converter. and also u have to take care of the TTL and CMOS logic, so on a General purpose board, get a MAX232 IC mounted ( Rx and Tx are connected to Tx and Rx of MCU). So, Connect a USB to SERIAL converter wire to that general purpose board and that board with your MCU. Now, use a simple utility like FlashMagic, and download hex file to MCU using serial port.
