Adding MOUNTING HOLES

Hi. I've made a PCB design and am trying to add the mounting holes. At first, I wasn't sure about how to do it. So, I thought I should add a mechanical part in the schematic and when I export the files I see the same in the layout. But, it did not work. It's giving me an error message that RefDes is missing though I have mentioned the part (in Part Developer) as a mechanical and specified M as the RefDes.

Well, if anyone know the simplest method of getting the mounting holes on to the PCB board, I would appreciate your suggestions.

I'm using Cadence Allegro V15.2

Re: Adding MOUNTING HOLES

Create the mounting hole as mechanical symbol in Alegro. Use the place >manually and in the placement list tab pull down menu select mechanical symbol and place it on the board. THis doesn't require any ref des.

Good Luck!
Nagaraj.

Re: Adding MOUNTING HOLES

after completing the out line(mechanical symbol)
use, add pin button to place your mounting holes
enter the filename of your mounting hole in the padstack option
and place the mounting holes where u require.
