in ADC testing, how many points should be sampled?

for a 10-bit ADC(10M sampling-rate, input range: -1V~1V),when dynamic testing(FFT) and static testing(histogram), how many points should be sampled seperately?

are there some formula or related papers which give clear explanations?

For a 10-bit ADC, n * 2^10, with n = 10 ... 100 ... 1000 , depending on your available (CPU) time ;-)
