How many DSP do I need?

I am studing a solution on getting multi channels of analogue input into a system and use DSP to compress and store the audio (Like a multi channels MP3 recorder), anyone can guide me how many DSP chip do I need?? am studing TI DSP right now< bur couldnt find related info there??

LEASE HELP!!
