How do we calculate combined Noise Figure of devices connected in parallel?

Please can you explain this in a little more detail? Pehaps a simple example might help

when you connect RF devices in parallel, you split the power going to each device. If you split it equally, you take at least a 3 dB hit over the NF of either device by itself.

@biff44: Could you pls explain in detail what do you mean by "atleast 3 dB hit"??
