How do I make a computer microphone?

Hi. I made a mic pre-amp a while back. Used a NE5532 with a standard inverting amp design and then put some caps here and there to make it pretty. The mic works great and the sound is pretty good, but the problem is that it records absolutely everything and it needs an external supply of atleast 8-9V I believe. Is it possible for me to make a computer mic that don't require an external design? Like a mic like this:

 

You can use voltage from USB port.
 

The 5V from the USB port isn't high enough and I would still have the issue with the mic recording kids playing a mile down the street as well as my own voice.
