hi i m a final year electrical and electronics student and for my project i need to figure out how to decide if a person is present in a room or not.plz help

Have you done any research into sensors, or looked at how intruder detection systems work?
Your answers may be found by doing that. Or if you wanted to know something beyond that, could you be more specific?

Use of a passive IR (PIR) or dual-tech sensor would most likely fulfill your requirements.
