how can i make a switch to ON and OFF my appliances using triac or any other solid state device.. help me out

Hai sohaib786
Just connect MT1 and MT2 of the tric in series to the supply to the load and trigger the gate with a "LOW" logic and tie the "HI" to the Phase line which is bieng switched. Or for isolation use an optocoupler. An aplication example can be see at this link.

Hope it Helps you. Good luck.

I am using many of such switches practically. In case you face any problem, just post your schematic here and it will be my pleasure to solve it. Good luck.
