Hello All,

What are recommendations for using DesignWare modules in synthesis.

How can I guide the synthesizer NOT to use DesignWare's during the synthesis?

Thank you!

Re: DesignWare - how to use recommendations

In SNPS - i think you have to specify if you wish to use DW component as a part of the rtl file list loaded - this is my uderstanding
Whereas in Cadence ot picks it up automatically from its installation area - as per whatever suitable arithmetic operator it finds in the RTL

Re: DesignWare - how to use recommendations

Can we consider DesignWare's as soft macros? Should fabs prepare special cells for these DesignWare's?

Re: DesignWare - how to use recommendations

I would call them Soft Ip's and not macro's.. no these are technology independent cells
The soft IP/DW will map to the technology you are using or intend to map to

Re: DesignWare - how to use recommendations

What purpose of DesignWares? Why they are needed?
