matlab and ads

how and why to use ads and matlab together ?

When you need to test a new modualtion scheme which are not avaliable in @DS, your can use MATLAB to generate I-Q signal and then use DAT format in @DS to import the data. In another case, you may need to test , say an equalizer, in matlab. you can use @DS simulate the effect of power amplifier, filter, etc. then jusy bring it back in matlab to test an euqalize. @DS can do this as well by using Patolemy, but if you r familar with malab and simullink, it is faster and easier.

Time-Domain Waveform Data (.tim) File, MDIF ASCII Format
sorry, i forgot to tell u now, this is what i use, .tim

The general .tim file format is:

BEGIN TIMEDATA
# T ( SEC V R xx )
% t v
<data line>
.

.

.
<data line>
END

Ref. file:///E:/@DS2003A/doc/ptolemy/pt06.html

then i can use Data Access Component (DAC)

u have to search DAC in @DS help, then you will get how to use it.
