homemade 1mH inductor

hi
i want to make LC filter with cutoff frequency equal 50KHz so i want inductor equal 1mH but i search in my country but i don't fined one and i can't fined ferrite core .

so i want to put iron rod in my homemade inductor can this way success ?
if any one has an idea please help me .

Iron core will have very high losses as u operate in HF
Why dont u try to stack multiple ferrite cores and try?
 

Which country are you in?

1mH inductors are common and not expensive. You also need to tell us what current it will carry and what application it is in.
