homemade cnc

Hi,

this is a very good homemade CNC with PC controller schematics
and orderable kit. (prebuilt version is for about 800 EUR)
Just use your existing DREMEL / PROXON, get some used stepper
motors and create PCBs etc. 8)

There is an orderable CD with all of the infos he has collected about
custom CNC systems.

anyone ever try this? looks like you could start making your own PCBs fairly quickly and cost effective.

anyone know how to make your own multilayer board? seems the CNC method is good to make individual 2 layer boards, but how to press them together to make multilayer??

A little dirty but my own design. $75 in parts all from Lowes, almost all metal with just some wood plates and a little plastic for mounting. Surplus motors and controller cost about another $30 or so in parts. Dremel is off right now, have parts to make a better tool mount. Plus they have better square metal boxes now at Lowes, the motor mounts could be made metal too. Just did plastic to set it up, worked well enough and never redid the mounts..

Not .0001 precision but good enough for drilling boards and cutting out some wood parts, even some metal cutting now and then.
