picc18 vs c18

Hi-tech C is very poweful than CCS-C,
as far as I know.
You also may know what IDE is good and suitable to compile; MPLAB IDE is not bad, maybe.

Hi-Tech C is great !

now hi tech with quickbuilder type app would be realy good

ccs is good but for pic 18 i would wait 1 month then ask

Hello, fullmoon.

I also agree to Hi@tech is better than MPLAB-C18.
As I know MPLAB-C18 is based on CCS from earier MPLAB-C and MPLAB-C17.
In my experience with both of Hi@tech and MPLAB-C, Hi@tech is more convenient and well proofed along with long time in the fields.
And their libraries are very good and support many functions.
Esp. HI@TIDE will give many profit and helps.

Good luck.

I prefer CCS PCWH. I think it's the easiest to use and it has a lot of built in libraries and functions. It is much easier to use than HI TECH. But I don't like mplab.

I think CCS PIC-C Compiler is easy , small , fast .
