high power timer .......

I need a high power timer(square wave generator) capable of delivering up to 1 Ampere maximum output current to drive a toroid in my project. If someone knows the part number , please share it with me.

You can use a prgrammable power regulator from Maxim

In what voltage? Use solid state relay...or use a mosfet and control the on/off use NE555!

Easy huh! More easier? Use microcontroller and combine it with a mosfet. Anyway the Maxim regulator idea is good too...it has an enable pin that you can switch on and off.
