Hi,
I am a hobbist and I'd like to build a DC-DC converter. For lowering the inductor size, I'd like PWM frequency around 60kHz. The MOSFET should tolerate I_DS = 160A (continuous) and V_DS = 80V.
I'd like to make it efficient, with minimal conduction and switching losses.
Which MOSFET would be ideal for this application?
Is there a gate driver for fast switching?
It would be good to have a gate driver which applies the double of the GS turn-on voltage in the 1st 0.5us, than applies the normal turn-on voltage. At turn off it does the opposite. It would charge/discharge the GS capacitance fast, without overcharging. I have never seen a similar gate driver. Does a similar one exist?
