hi I wanna make a tourniquet system with counter

I've a project :

you log in a password with a keypad to a system and the system open the tourniquet meanwhile count entrance and displaying data on lcd screen .
I have to use pic microcontroller and if you have good ideas what can be added this system.
please help me

Do you mean turnstyle - a gate people walk through?
A tourniquet is what you wrap around a person's arm or leg to stop an injury from bleeding.

About the counter, is not a big deal. The counter can be made using CMOS or a small microcontroller like the 16F628 (check this PIC counter at www.josepino.com/pic_projects/index?four_digits_counter.jpc )

To detect each person walking thru you can use a switch activated by a light sensor and a bright LED with lenses or even a laser pointer. The light sensor should be about 40 inches high.
