am learner of antenna design..so help me
what are the charecteristics of a planar monopole antenna ?
and what is the use of substrate and ground plane in antenna design..
Thanks in advance

often we say that antenna should be half the wavelength of the signal but i have seen more transmitter which has smaller antenna than the wavelength of the signal and it works. i.e the car door lock system which work in long distance. so why it works as it has small antenna.
