HFSS Direct or Iterative Solver at THz frequencies

Hi,

I am going to simulate structure at THz frequencies and i want to know what solver to use Direct or Iterative. The structure size is about (20mm , 20mm , 60mm), frequency 0.5 THz and memory 8 GB.

I hope you're not having any high epsilon dielectrics, cos your 8 GB ram will be quickly insufficient. I ran structure 8mm x 8mm x 6 mm at 300GHz and was just able to squeeze it into 32 GB ram. Set it to use the iterative solver, but it might automatically switch to direct solver as it happend in my case. Good luck.
