Help Unknown Sensor : What does it do ?

Hey ! I am new on this forum and i need your help guys :smile:

I am trying to analyse/ reverse engineering a sytem. And i would like to know the kind of sensor on the following photo. I would be glad if someone can give me his expertise on this subject :wink:

A device for testing the gap in tweezers?

It looks like a white SMD LED to me.

If you want more ideas, tell us where it came from and maybe show a picture of it in it's original location.
