Hi Folks,

I'm using Orcad Layout (v9) to route my PCB (2 layers , top and bottom only). I need to achieve the following requirement,
  1. On Top Layer i have to manually route important traces.
  2. Auto Route rest of the traces on the bottom layer. (No more traces on top)

How to achieve this ? I route manually important traces on top layer. Now when i auto route , Not only does the autorouter rip all my traces on the top layer but adds new ones on top.

Can someone please tell me how to achieve it , is this possible in the first place ?

Hi,

Have you locked the tracks at the top layer? If "Yes" upload your xyz.MAX file to help you out. Also check layer stack up.

Hope this solves your problem.

search in the routing option before running autorouter .. there will be a option of "which layer to route "!!
or other vise you can lock tracks individually after manual routing

I had to change the auto routing options, thanks.
