Help needed with Kantronics TNC

hi there!
can anyone help me with this problem:
my Kantronics Wireless Modem 1200 can sign in to my desktop but not to my laptop(Acer). Both use WindowsXP. The configurations in hyperterminal are the same. Baud rate:1200, data bits:8, stop bit:1, parity:none, flow control:hardware.

Have you checked your security settings? firewalls and also the version of windows may be a problem, whether it is professional or home ediion.
