I need help, information on how one actually go about converting a signal from time domain into phase domain (whereby they can see the signal in phase domain wrt amplitude). I tried to look for information about it on google, but was unsuccesfull.
Any help would be appreciated, like a tutorial or an exmaple with matlab simulation, etc
Re: Help needed with conversion from Time domain to Phase Do
Maybe you need plot of amplitude-phase characteristic of signal? Then apply fourier transformation to your signal and change complex representation from "real-image parts" to "amplitude-phase angle" and plot it in polar coordinates.
Using Matlab as mentioned above.
Re: Help needed with conversion from Time domain to Phase Do
As far as I know, there is nothing called a phase domain. Its normally time domain or the frequency domain which is the variation of a signal over time or frequency. Probably, you may want the phase of a signal with respect to time. If you have the signal as complex value e.g, x+iy, then the phase is tan inverse of (y/x).

did u mean the phase response by any chance? then, its jus the angle part of FFT function! similar to the magnitude part...
if not, then this is related to the digital modulation schemes which are referred as the phase domain.. as they are phase modulated analogous to the FM in analog case... i dont think its used frequently too.. nevertheless have heard of it. that has nothing to do with the amplitude vs phase plot however.. guess what u tried to say is the phase "response"
Re: Help needed with conversion from Time domain to Phase Do
I too feel that there is no such thing as phase domain. There is the phase response, polar plots, and for the case of MPSK/MSK, signal constellations. Maybe you can elaborate on what you really require.
