HELP Needed In Understanding Emulation!!!

Hi Friends,

I am currently into RTL Design in a service based company and have been selected for Emulation and Board Bring up task in a world renowned product based company as fresher level engineer. I would like to know what does emulation actually means and how difficult it would be to cope with the new posting. Kindly brief me the various aspects that would be expected from me along with the subjects that i would need to brush up.

I will be happy if you can share me any materials in this regard.

please guide me as i am new to this field and my future depends on my decision.

Emulation is HW oriented.
Simulation is SW related.

most of the time it is mixed in common usage and people refer simulation as emulation.

if you can give more detail of the nature of job then it will be easier for to give the advice.
