previously I made discrete board design using Orcad V16.0 tool.
But now plan to SMD based board design using design.

Generally what i was doing for discrete PCB board in Orcad as follows:

pad to pad 8mil
pad via 8mil
pad to track 8mil

track width .8mm

I heard that there is a rule for track width According to that track width will be set?

what is the Rule ?

How it is applicable for through hole component as well as for SMD on?

How should be the consideration taken for both the cases as for the rule?

In view track width depends on current rating of your track and also on the capablity of your PCB manufacturer
