Help me select a microcontroller for a digital thermometer

i am task to do a digital thermometer..
i need a help..
i was taught to use a microcontroller,,
what will be the most effective microcontroller i would use...
i don' t know how to deal with a microcontroller..

It depends on the microcontroller that you were taught and you can work on better, I think you should select ATMEL 8051 + 0831 + LM 35.

hi
if u want to wrote the program in basic u can use bascomavr or fastavr .
if u want to whrote the program in c++ u can use codevision or keil or franklin .
 

hello..

any microcontroller you can use use ds1820 chip for sensing the temperature.
