i've just made my own programmer board for ATmega16, but it won't detect by codevision or even AVRstudio 4. i've tried for every programmer setting on codevision, but it won't detect when i tried to read the chip signature.

my programmer setting suspect is by using STK500/AVRISP...
but i really don't have any idea of it.

i'm using RS232 for my programming system, and i'm using USB2.0 to RS232 cable for conecting my programming board to my LAPTOP.

Could anyone help me...PLEASE

THX.

note: this is the link for my circuit programmer board

i'm using 12MHz for my Crystal component

Hi, Erha
I think your cable USB2.0 to RS232 is bad.
I first experienced the same thing. then I bought a good brand cables ATEN. The price is a bit expensive, but until now I use continue

hi, dimas
but the cable already detected on my LAPTOP.
i think maybe it is because of the Crystal component that i used...

on codevision, the highest is 115900.
actually i still don't understand what its mean for..

i mean the board and program wont work syncron just because of the Crystal component that i used...

am i right?

btw thx for your response
