Hi everybody,

I'm designing rf front-end circuits recently. when I finished lvs with calibre, there are some extraction warnings as below:

Extraction Errors and Warnings for cell "ind_std$$180566060"
------------------------------------------------------------

WARNING: Unattached label:
Name "MINUS" at location (78,34.005) on layer 45

WARNING: Unattached label:
Name "PLUS" at location (-80,34.005) on layer 45

WARNING: Unattached port "PLUS" at location (-80,34.005) in cell "ind_std$$180566060"
WARNING: Unattached port "MINUS" at location (78,34.005) in cell "ind_std$$180566060"

Can anybody tell me how to sovle the problem?

Thanks very much!

calibre warning unattached label

In your layout there are labels out of a layer on which they define terminals.
For example, if terminals in a layer of first metal M1 are defined as

ATTACH M1TXT M1TRM

That labels in layer M1TXT, being out of layer M1 will lead to a similar error.

Thank you, pit1000.

I 'm sorry that I am still not very clear about what to do, because I do not know much about the simulation tools and the rules till now.

There are only pins on layer Metal6, and no other labels in the layout.
Should I change the lvs rules?

Anyhow the label warning will not affect the post simulation results, so it's not very important. am I right?

Thanks again![/quote]

extraction warning calibre unnattached label

There are only pins on layer Metal6, and no other labels in the layout.
But in the report it is clearly specified:

Name "MINUS" at location (78,34.005) on layer 45
Name "PLUS" at location (-80,34.005) on layer 45

Maybe layer with stream number 45 is invisible? If in extract rules file there is statement

TEXT DEPTH ALL

Calibre will search and connect terminals in all levels of hierarchy
Should I change the lvs rules?
If you do not have operational experience with the Calibre and you use the PDK from fab more preferably to contact fabs support service.
Anyhow the label warning will not affect the post simulation results, so it's not very important. am I right?
In this case warnings can not affect LVS and PEX results. But I recommend to achieve the clean report.

unattached label calibre extraction

You are right, in the "calibre.lvs" there are commands:

TEXT LAYER 45 ATTACH 45 metal6
PORT LAYER TEXT 45

and

TEXT DEPTH PRIMARY
PORT DEPTH PRIMARY
