Hi
I want build a bench power supply 30V and about 10A. I found following circuit on web but it is for 3Amp Which parts should I upgrade? I know input rectifier diodes and power transistors mut be change but what about other elements?
Also If I want add CV indicators LED; what is the circuit?
Thanks

Hi,

You may build it ... But I personally never would. The linear technique is outdated. It needs a heavy transformer, a huge heatsink and most probably even a fan to dissipate 350W at worst case.

***
Where to bign, where to end .. with the needed modifications?
C1 --> three times that big.
F1 .. adjusted..
Q4, Q5 ... need additional 5 transistors in parallel.
Q3 --> needs to drive the Q4, Q5 base .. plus the additional parallel transistors. I´m not sure if the current gain is good enough.
R18 needs to be lowered to reduce power dissipation.
.. thus the voltage gain around U2A needs to be higher .

Increased capacitance and reduced gain and speed may result in oscillation, overheat, explosion of a semiconductor or more.

Again: I won´t do it. I guess it´s better to buy one. Especially since I don´t expect good overall performance from this circuit.

Regarding this schematic: I recommend to contact the author.

The fact your asking that question means its likely a non starter. Consider looking on Amazon and you'll pick one up for a few dollars
