Hence my request for a profile pic. In the absence I can only guess its a cap (because of the plastic seat) - either an SMT electrolytic aluminium, or maybe even a supercap.

Good catch !! good eyes !! It's definitely L in at least 2 places the markings on top ( * 100) were troubling me too.
