I want to design a ultra wideband antenna array with high gain. The bandwidth is 1G TO 10GHz. I know it is difficult to implent . Anyone can give me some advise or some documents. Thanks a lot ! Regards
There are a number of antennas capable of your 3+ octave bandwidth. Vivaldis, spirals, and LPDs come to mind. The big problem is element spacing at the high frequency end to avoid grating lobes.
You don't say how much gain you are after or how much space you have available. A reflector with a broad band feed night be more easily realized.
There was another article from microwave journal (2004) about designing this antenna. However, I couldn't locate the link. Let you know later if I find it.
Just found the article:
"The Design of a Dual Polarized Vivaldi Array" -- Microwave journal (September 2004). Just search in www.mwjournal.com, you have to login to read the full article.
