hi guys i need help in designing heart rate monitor,using LED to count 128 pulses and after 30sec it must display it on 3 seven segment display,i m using LM358 FOR SENSING THE HEART RATE,so i want to interface it with pic or sumthing else as long as i can read display at the end

You should check out the ARM architecture. There are a number of vendors supplying the MCU cores: either M0 or M3 (they are backwards compatible to the ARM7TMDI ISA) - Semiconductor Vendor with ARM processor RTL license from ARM - Connected Community - ARM. If you are looking to get the longest battery life the best one out there I've seen on the market is the Energy Micro EFM32 product family.
