It is a simple application of H bridge on L293D. This construction can be done by beginners who want to learn more about microcontrollers. It is useful when you want to drive a bipolar stepper motor (4 wires) from Arduino and you do not want to connect them using a contact board. Standard application L293D uses 4 outputs of the microprocessor, which sometimes is possible to do, but you cannot often leave this number of pins free.

Schematic of connection the H bridge can be found **broken link removed**. This schematic with few additional elements allows you to save two pins of the microcontroller. If you do not want the connection to be only 2-wires, make sets of two boards. That solution will allow to connect both stepper motor to the microcontroller using two cables, four cables or connect two stepper motors.

Boards were drawn in Eagle 6.2.
