Graphic equalizer bars heights on FPGA ???

Hi All,

I'm working on Graphic equalizer on FPGA, I have to read the audio signal from the "Line In" port, using the Chip AC97 codec, and after that I have to pass 10 band pass FIR filters, but after that I don't how to use the output to represent the bars, on the VGA monitor,

so my problem basically, I need to know the bars height how could I calculate it

I don't have any FFT module in my design, I need to use filters only
