anyone have good site on how tri-state buffer for memory works?
If I try to control 1024 outputs at same time, whats the best way of controlling them, it seems I'd have to use too many decoders. I have no problem controlling it, but whats the best way of doing it without using that many decoders =-/
One option to control lots of digital I/O is to use port expanders and typical IC used in such applications are 82C55 (8-bit bus) with 24 I/Os and MAX7300 (I2C interface) with 28 I/Os ..
If you use the latter - see picture below - you will need ≈39 ICs: 37 as I/Os and 2 to address the 37 array ..
