Giving def instead of lef at the time of importing design?

Can we give Def instead of lef at the time of importing design ?if y or no please justify your answer ?

Def is the post layout netlist , while lef is technology file hw would cnyone give def as input as i guess u r importing files in encounter........

Sorry you cant give def instead of lef..
lef is layout exchange format.. it has physical information i.e., goementric...etc for all standard cells in that process..

Def is design exchange format.. after final design you can export floorplan and power routing in def format for further use..

Both are different..
